Where I’m From

By Monyette Drew

Mrs. York’s 4th Grade

I’m from Sunday Mornings

Smell of greens beans on

the stove,

hearing

Dad’s

Coffee brewing,

stirring

then

hearing Mama calling

‘’Mon Mon, come

get me some water”

as I get dressed

for church.

I’m from singing,

dancing and

clapping my

hands.

I am from

Eating sweet potatoes,

green beans, and

                                                      sweet cornbread.

                                                    I’M FROM

Harrison Street Baptist Church

Where I'm loved.

I am from

Heaven

And

Earth

where

I
will

LIVE

FOR

YEARS

TO

COME.
