McNabb third grader Damian Harper selects a mechanical pencil at the Mac store as helpers Hope Mason (5th) and Jordan Harmon (5th) assist.

The Mac store began March 1, and sells pencils, mechanical pencils, erasers, and paper before the morning assembly. Profits from the sales go to the Physical Education program.

Students earn the opportunity to help in MAC store based on their math scores. Fifth grade teacher Jamie Roche selects students each week to staff the store. P. E. teacher Shawn McDermott oversees operation of the store.

McDermott said the store helps students develop practical living and math skills.

National Symphony Orchestra presents The Teddy Bear Concert at McNabb! PDF Print E-mail

McNabb staff and students thoroughly enjoyed a special performance by the National Symphony Orchestra last week. “It's a big bear world out there, and every bear has its own look and growl.” The Teddy Bear Concert helped our kids take a traveling adventure around the world to peek at these adorable creatures and the sounds of their homelands--music that is as unique as they are. With NSO musicians Elisabeth Adkins and Paula Akbar, violin, Lewis Lipnick, bassoon, and Joe Connell, percussion, as well as narrator Lynne-Jane Forman, this performance assembled a wild combination of instruments in order to create global music!

You can see a video from the Teddy Bear Concert here.
